Silver Lining: the question I get asked the most

November 6, 2012

the question I get asked the most

Every day, it's "Mrs. Emery, who are you voting for?" "Are you voting for Obama or Romney?" "My mom says Romney is the best because he has good policies and good hair. Are you voting for him too?" "Which one are you voting for?"

It's quite hilarious, and I never ever tell them who I'm voting for.

{Although if avalanche bars at 9pm were up for election, I'd vote for them. That happened last night. So yummy. Such a sugar rush right before bedtime.}

My students made voting booths out of cardboard boxes stolen from the cafeteria, and today they're voting for their new class Town Mayor, and they're really excited. I even had these stickers sent to me to give to my students today. {Really though, they're starting to understand civic participation and democratic republics and all that. It's awesome.}

Because everyone knows the sticker is the best part of voting :)

So get out there and get a sticker today! And whatever you do, don't tell my students who you voted for :)

  1. I stole that sticker! Because as soon as my MIL gets here, I am running up to my daughters school (they canceled school today for this) and voting!

  3. This is a great way to get kids to understand the importance of voting. Making them understand that every vote counts is significant.
    I am following you now and like your blog. I would love for you to follow back.

  4. I worked at the polls yesterday (for money, not to be a good person). The woman in charge of the training session said that people get really upset if you run out of stickers. "If you even get close to running out of stickers, call the main office IMMEDIATELY so that we can bring some more out to you. Don't wait until you're all the way out!" So apparently the sticker is the best part :)

  6. Hahaha! I personally think Romney has skeezy car salesman hair, but who's keeping track? I saw another blogger post today that her son asked her if she voted for the President or "the one with fancy hair". I died. That's funny stuff.
