How-To: A Hot Chocolate Bar

Recently I've discovered my love for hot chocolate {especially with peppermint candy canes melted into it...}. So when I invited a few neighborhood friends to come over, I knew it would be the perfect thing to do on a Monday night.

What I had:
Stephen's Milk Hot Chocolate Mix
Stephen's Mint Truffle Hot Chocolate Mix
candy canes
mini marshmallows
chocolate-covered cinnamon bears
whipped cream
mint cookies

Then I added a few Santas and some pom poms for decoration. Each guest brought their favorite Christmas mug and we sat around sipping them {and topping off the marshmallows again and again and again}. Et voila! A hot chocolate bar. It would be fun to put this in a tray and leave it up all season so guests can help themselves when they visit.

What else would you add?
And uh, want to come over?

  1. I love hot chocolate bars! We were going to do one for our wedding reception because it was in December but we love ice cream too much so we had cold stone cater instead hahah.

  2. That's a great idea! It's always fun to add something unique to a holiday party :)

  3. Stephen's Mint Truffle Hot Chocolate Mix is certainly the most delicious stuff out there!

  4. My favorite Stephen's hot chocolate is Irish Cream. But I don't think they make it anymore. Sadness...

  5. Totally just did one at our monthly Pampered Chef consultant's meeting last night. So delicious. One of the ladies brought homemade hot chocolate mix really good.

  6. Look at these little fellers I found on pinterest...

Wondering if it's too late to make them for our YW Christmas party tomorrow! Love the hot chocolate bar, I think it would make a great theme for a winter wedding reception.

  7. You forgot tim tams.... Love you Brookleberry.
