23 weeks: the good stage

A few days ago, Sam and I were talking about our growing baby (what else is there to talk about these days, honestly?). He said "This is the good stage of pregnancy that makes women want to be pregnant all the time, isn't it?"

I think he's right. This is the good stage. The dark ages of the first trimester are over, and I'm not feeling nauseous or fatigued at all anymore. I'm not uncomfortable or too big yet. It's fun to feel her move and move inside of me, and I like my baby bump. I have a few of the smaller, unpleasant symptoms (bending over is getting tricky, my wardrobe is limited, and I constantly feel like I'm not getting enough breath), but nothing to complain about! I am loving this stage.

One quick anecdote: the sun came out just in time for these pictures. Three cheers for no snow, warmer days, and gorgeous sunlight!

Another anecdote: we were gifted a stethoscope so we could hear the baby's heartbeat (thank you Ross and Krysti!). It was so funny though, because literally every time we pressed the stethoscope on my tummy the baby would find it and kick/ punch it. We've tried it on a few different occasions, and it has never been more than 10 seconds before she'll find that thing and kick it. Luckily, playing a game of kick the stethoscope is just as fun to us as playing a game of find the heartbeat :)

  1. This is so sweet! What a great idea to have a stethoscope to hear it's heartbeat. I just found out my sister is pregnant so I'll have to get her one! You look so pretty in the photos! Wow!

    1. Thanks! And I do my own pictures. Usually I take a family member along to help me, but I frame and edit them myself. Let's take pics of each other sometime.

  3. This gives me hope! I'm 12 weeks today. I've been really nauseous but I think it's lessening. I got a cold this weekend so I was super bummed out!
