Silver Lining: Claire is 7 months! (And I'm an older baby person)

Claire is 7 months! (And I'm an older baby person)

It's official: I am an older baby person.

Some people love the newborn stage, where they are just so squishy and smell so heavenly and will sleep anywhere (but they're up all night every night). Some people love the 4-6 months stage, where they start interacting with the world and smiling a lot and sleeping better (but they start teething and can scream loudly now). And some people love the mobile stage, where they are loud and busy and start to show their personality (but they get frustrated when they see something they can't touch or have to be confined to their car seat).

This is my favorite stage with Claire. We have so much fun together. She loves to smile and jabber at people, and she's always discovering something new and exciting. She even has two little teeth nubs poking through her gums.

Or maybe I just love this stage because it's the one we're in right now. I think I like whatever stage she's currently in the best. I keep thinking it can't get any better.

Can it? Or does it just keep getting better and better?

^^As you can tell from these pictures, she doesn't love sitting still any more. She'd rather be rolling around and finding something to chew on.

^^She always sucks her lower lip like this, and it's pretty funny. Especially when it makes loud smacking sounds during church :)

^^ this is what happens when daddy comes home in the middle of the photo shoot. We're pretty obsessed with that little tongue smile.

Happy 7 months, Squish! We love you a lot!

  1. I have loved every stage thus far, but I love them all because they are so different! I miss the sweet, squishy snuggles of the newborn stage, but love the sloppy kisses of the stage after that. I am really loving the trying to talk stage. It just keeps getting better and better!

    1. AH I'm so excited for Claire to get older and more fun! Although I've heard the biting and hitting stage isn't that fun.

  2. I loved the newborn stage...so much! My husband said the other night, "She just gets better and better." And it's true. I worried most about being a toddler mom but I find myself looking SO forward to everything because it's been so hard. (4-6ish months was hardest on me. She slept worse than she did as a newborn and she cried in her stroller THE WHOLE TIME every time and the car...it was ROUGH) . Love these photos!

    1. That sounds like such a rough stage! I really think it all has to do with sleep. I loved my entire life more when Claire started sleeping through the night haha

  3. Oh My Goodness isn't she the cutest little ball of squish! Claire is adorable and happy 7 months! You made it through the no sleep stage and some of the teething! I hope she continues to grow in beauty and grace and loveliness!

  4. I'm an "older baby" kind of person too. In fact, if I could skip pregnancy and go right to about 8 months old, I'd have a dozen children! Maybe. ;) But you're right, every stage is a great stage! Way to live in the moment and enjoy it.

    1. Oh, amen to that! If my babies could be born sleeping through the night, I'd have a million.

  6. So cute! Rhys does the same thing with his lower lip, but he furrows his brows when he does it--like he's seriously contemplating something! Has Claire started crawling yet? I certainly hope Rhys's teeth pop out soon--they're driving him bonkers!

  8. My son is double Claire's age, almost 15 months in fact, and I can say that it does just get better and better - a lot more work, but all fun!

Claire is just adorable and seems like she has such a fun little personality!
