general conference swagger

This weekend was full of general conference (my favorite).

We spent Sunday at my family's house. Everyone brought friends, and we all squished in the basement, and Krysti fed us gigantic meals every 3 hours, and is there really any better way to do it?

{In other news, I'm way jealous of my little brother's Mickey Mouse watch. What kind of 10-year-old has that kind of swag?}

Happy Monday!
I'm off to a 3-day week and then FALL BREAK!

What are you up to this week?
And if you watched conference, wasn't it the best?

around these parts - snowcones and running

Let me tell you what's been going on around these parts.

First of all - new blog design! The talented Heather of Milkglass and Honey did it, and let me just say, she is a miracle worker. I won this redesign at a blogger meet-up {yet another reason to go to those things} and before I knew I won anything I was admiring how put-together and confident Heather was. Thanks a million H!

Second - let me tell you about Monday nights at the lovenest. We have family home evening. Inevitably, I end up begging Sam to go on a family run and  accidentally/on purpose end up at the snowcone place. He usually says yes :)

And yes, I am aware my snowcones are getting progressively larger. I'm in control...

And speaking of running - some people have asked me how I run and train. HA! Here's what happens: I crank up my music loud enough to drown out my panting, and then I run with no rhyme, reason or route until my Endomondo app tells me I've gone farther than yesterday, and then I try to find my way home. And turn my music up a little more to drown out the added panting. That's it! I should write a book. This could change lives :)

Favorite Day

In elementary school, the ladies in the office sang this song every Friday on the intercom. They were off-pitch and old, and it was adorable.

Friday, Friday, Friday is my favorite day!

Aren't Fridays great?

This morning, my Friday started with an early-morning trip to the temple. I ran into lots of people I knew, including one very smiley and happy sister missionary {yay Hermana Adams! She was even more smiley and lovely than before}.

I love walking out of the temple to the sunrise and valley view.

Then, during a work break, I talked to Momma Rouse and Momma Smith on the phone! They are two of the very best mothers I know, and they make me smile. Plus Momma Rouse said she sent a Valentine to me!

{I'll admit it. I talk to mothers from Oregon more than high school friends from Oregon. Significantly more. Should that be worrisome? Maybe, but I don't feel like worrying about anything today. There's too much sunshine outside.}

Now, I'm in the library. Technically I'm doing homework, but actually I'm teasing Amanda and getting distracted by Sam and stalking people's adorable blogs.

Not to mention the sunshine.

Not to mention our plans for tonight {I can't say anything yet! I'm keeping a secret! But I'm so excited!}

And I realize that I'm breaking the number one blogging rule - IS EACH POST ABOUT SOMETHING? - with all this rambling, but I don't care because the sun is so shiny and almost warm.

Happy Friday everyone!
