Silver Lining: 5 things about Christmas

5 things about Christmas

playing in the snow on Christmas Eve

1. I love Christmas. I was lucky to spend Christmas morning with just Sam, and then the rest of the day with family. Sam and I like to keep Christmas simple, but he did give me new perfume and a watch that I love. Mostly we loved just being with my family and eating yummy food.

2. We don't usually see movies on Christmas Day, but yesterday we had to make an exception. Our whole family grew up on Les Mis - listening to it, playing it on the piano, and seeing it in London several Christmases ago. So we had to go see it yesterday. Simply put, I loved it. It's all about fighting for what you believe, hope, love, and forgiveness, and it leaves me inspired every time.

3. Movies and presents are fun, but by far the best part of Christmas was Skyping with my little brother. He's been in Uruguay for the past 19 months, serving and helping the people there (he's a full-time missionary). Holy cow that kid inspires me. I can't wait 'till May when he comes home.

4. This morning I woke up with a terrible head cold. Coughing, aching, sore throat, sneezing - you name it. This is a problem because we're supposed to go to Logan today to spend time with Sam's family {and go to an important meeting}. Even the thought of taking a shower exhausts me....

5. Because of aforementioned head cold, the year in review link-up is coming tomorrow. Thanks for being patient :)

  2. We haven't seen Le Mis yet, but I'm looking forward to it! And I was skyping with far away family on Christmas, too! Skype is such a blessing!

  5. Les Mis is my favorite musical. I never get tired of listening to the songs. It's also my favorite novel and Victor Hugo is my favorite author. I have always been in awe at how the musical has caught the spirit of the novel. Except for the thing with Marius, the play has stayed true to the novel.

When they showed the first movie of Les Miserables with Clare Danes, I was soooo disappointed. So, here comes another movie and I wasn't planning to watch it till I read your post.
