Silver Lining: heat wave babushka

February 5, 2013

heat wave babushka

I had this moment on Saturday in which I was circumstantially stalking bridal conventions (as one does), and before you know it, I was outside in downtown Provo without a coat on. I wasn't even in gloves or boots or anything, and I was feeling the sun on my face, and about to do a happy dance for the warm weather, when suddenly I realized - it's barely pushing 40 out here. Whyyyyy does that feel warm?? The conclusion I came to was either a) I have eskimo ancestors I'm unaware of, or b) I'm so used to the cold that 40 feels warm.

I think I'll pick the eskimos. I always wanted to call someone babushka, and Sam doesn't go for that particular pet name.

blouse: gifted // black skinnies: forever 21 // shoes: TOMS via Nordstrom // earrings: Target // watch: Macys

Either way, I've never been happier to be in 40 degrees.

  4. YESS. I just moved to Utah, like, a month ago, and somehow I have already somewhat acclimated. Don't get me wrong, I still want to cry when it's in the 20's, but when it was in the 40's the other day, I was outside in only a sweatshirt. If it had been in the 40's in AZ, I would have been crying. It's probably those Eskimo ancestors ;)
