Silver Lining: Baby Bloopers (+ Blog Business)

Baby Bloopers (+ Blog Business)

A more correct title would be Baby Outtakes, not Baby Bloopers. But honestly, when you're presented with an alliteration opportunity such as this one, you can't pass it up for the sake of having a more accurate title. Am I right? :)

Today I present to you some darling pictures of my baby making weird faces. Our baby's cute faces are the number one source of entertainment over here. Actually, the number one source of entertainment is the neighbor kid who knocks on our door about 20 times per day asking us random questions. But baby girl making weird faces is a close second :)

But first, let's get some blog business out of the way.

+ I updated some of my pages. Check out the new ABOUT and FAQ section!

+ Did you know I reply to every comment I get on this blog? (Or at least, I try to!) If you commented, check back later, and chances are you'll see a reply. I used to email people back, but too many commenters have their settings set to "no reply." One option was to go on a worldwide crusade to end no reply commenting (seriously people, pretty please check your settings and make the switch!). The less exhausting option was to reply in the post. So check back to see a reply to your comment!

+ I'm in the market for a little blog face lift. Leave me a comment if you have a favorite affordable blog designer you've worked with and loved!

+ People sometimes ask how they can best support my blog. First of all, thank you! Blogs are silly things, but I happen to love mine, and I am so appreciative of people who spend their time reading. Besides reading, commenting on my blog or engaging with my blog on social media (liking, tweeting, sharing, etc) is the number one way to support it! I also appreciate if you click on my sidebar ads and the links in my sponsored posts, because it shows the companies that invest in my blog that I am worth their time. Mostly though, I'm just so darn grateful that you show up and read this silly little thing.

+ This isn't blog business, but I have a few openings for after school tutoring this year. If you're in the Provo area, and know of elementary-aged children that could use a tutor, please pass on my contact information! I LOVE working with children one-on-one in all subjects, and I have some afternoon and evening spots open this school year.

Okay, enough with the boring stuff, and onto the pictures! I'm breaking at least three cardinal blogging rules here (not taken with a real camera, not edited, not even the same width), but hey, it's all for the sake of a good laugh.

The Thinker

The Another Picture? Seriously?

The Startled by an Insignificant Noise

The Oops I Pooped

The About to Sneeze

The Gang Signs

The Metaphysical Dreamer

 And, our all-time favorite:
The 80-year-old Drunken Grandpa

Which is your favorite?
Happy weekend!

  1. Ugh! The no reply makes me crazy! I think google plus is somehow making that so much worse. My blog designer is great to work with. She's kate from clover and dot. It's been a while since I had her do anything, but she's very reasonably prices. I just worked with Brielle from ready or not blog design on some stuff for the sleepover. She is amazing! She did exactly what I had in mind with a crazy short deadline.

    1. Here's a post that tells you how. Google + messed up everything, so people have to go in and change it.

  4. I've worked with Jana at Life Could be a Dream. She's affordable and really talented. I was wondering if you could maybe email me a little about your tutoring business. I am NOT in the area, but have recently quit teaching to stay home with my new little girl. I'd love to chat with you and see if you could give me some suggestions on how you're planning to make it work. My email address is mynewlinesblog@gmail.com.

  5. I love that you reply to the majority of blog comments. To me, blogs are a little community and conversation is great! I love my little blogging community and always reply to my comments. Just a suggestion that I've found is great so all get to see responses is Disqus. It's pretty easy to add too.

Honestly, babies make some of the funniest faces! As they get older, they just get funnier and cuter, especially with their expressions starting to feel like actual expressions - if that makes sense. Haha. My little one is always raising his eyebrows at the most appropriate of times.

    1. AH I've had problems trying to comment on people's blogs that have Disqus. Did you feel like your comments went down at all when you switched? Maybe I'm the only one who has problems with it haha

And yes, I'm so excited for when she gets older and can make real facial expressions. Thank you for the comment!

    2. I haven't personally had any problems with Disqus, but I've heard a few have! Finding a commenting system for your blog can be a toughie. I added Disqus after I'd had problems with my blogger system, not only with my comments getting lost but also spam - my spam is none existent now!

  6. Just had a reaaaalllly hard time holding laughter back at the 80-year-old drunken grandpa :) Adorable and awesome. And you're a fantastic blogger, especially with the return commenting. It's so important but so easy to overlook :)

  8. Those pictures! And I feel like no matter how many times I switch my settings, it somehow switches back to "no reply". So annoying. But still... those pictures! I hope I can get some good funny face outtakes from my girl as well because they're just golden.

    1. You're not alone! Google Plus has messed up everyone and their no-reply settings. It's so lame, and I haven't figured out an alternative commenting system yet that works as well (you know, Disqus or something). Thanks for the comment!
