I'm so excited for this weekend because Sam and I have a date tonight. An actual real-live date! With a babysitter and everything! In the past few weeks, we've slipped into a late-night working routine. We put the baby to bed, and then I spend a few hours editing pictures or blogging at our desk while he does homework on the bed or at the kitchen table. It's productive for our personal goals, but not for our marriage. Tonight we're excited to take a break from working and focus on good food, good conversation, and exploring our new city together.
I wanted to share the gorgeous family I got to photograph recently. The Rodericks are naturals in front of the camera. Usually I have to spend some time directing people on what to do with their extra hand, or how to angle their shoulders, but not this time. I would tell them where to stand, and then by the time I did a practice shot to check my settings, they were perfectly posed, just waiting. Talk about dream clients!

^^We shot in a little hidden pathway I found on the very west side of Papago Park. You really can find a bit of everything in that place. I love it already!
