Silver Lining: the moment spring arrived

the moment spring arrived

It wasn't spring when daylight savings started. It wasn't spring when March started. It was spring yesterday afternoon, when I went out to recess just because I could and it was warm and my students were wearing pastel-colored pants, and I jumped rope with them (I'm good, but not at double dutch) and felt the sun on my eyelids. The moment you can feel the sun soaking through your eyelids and the whole world is brighter - that's when you know it's spring.

After a particularly intense winter, I couldn't be happier.

Has spring come for you yet?

I'm also here to introduce you to Alex today. Alex is the sweetheart and brains behind the blog Our Happily Ever After. I once took an art class with Alex, and she is so gorgeous and full of life. She was the one always making her neighbors (me) crack up in the middle of class. Right now she's writing her love story on her blog, and I love reading the installments! And you guys - I'm not even joking about how much I love her wedding photos. Exhibit A:

Just from glancing through her year in review post, you get a glimpse of how fun-loving Alex is. And I loved her thoughts on the horror of Sandy Hook from a teacher's perspective (my version of this post here). All in all, please go over to Alex's blog and say hi!
