Silver Lining: surprise!

surprise!

Surprise - we're moving!

To make a long story short, our little lovenest is owned by a relative. The plan was to stay in our lovenest one more year until - the plan changed! My awesome cousin is going to move in with her husband after their wedding this fall (an October wedding! Can you even imagine how gorgeous that will be?). We're happy they get to live here.

The search is officially on. We hope to find something local and move in within two weeks, before my school meetings start up again. Somebody reassure us that there's a little space out there, somewhere, waiting just for us. Bonus points if it has neighborhood kids that will be good for Jason.

Basically we're looking for something like this. I want to keep my expectations low ;)

Not too much to ask, right?

No but seriously, I am excited. And weeding through KSL classifieds is an adventure in and of itself. Please explain how "no longer smells of urine" or "a $29 fee gets us to vacuum before we leave" is a selling point...

Cross your fingers for us!

  1. hahahahahaha so true! It took us a couple of weeks on KSL before we found ap lace that was both decent and affordable! Utah is full of gems though once you weed out the muck! Good luck! P.S. (Aka shameless plug - does your cousin need a wedding photographer?! ;) )

Apartment searches in UT is the worst!! The only reason we found one is because we knew someone who "bumped" us to the top of the waiting list. Craiglist and KSL adds are ALWAYS sketchy. Good Luck girl!

  5. Thanks for coming by look.feel.be! I am so excited to have you reading. I have been looking through your blog too- about the copycat post below... I just finished a delightful, inspiring book by Austin Kleon called Steal Like an Artist. In it, he argues that there are no original ideas and that the best artists (whatever your art may be) are the ones that know how to "steal" ideas. I highly recommend the book. I don't think that either you, or the the bloggers you linked to, are the first to think of any of those ideas. And what if you didn't follow those particular blogs? You wouldn't know they had written those posts. I say just post what you've written!

  6. You have to love sketchy KSL ads! I know that when we moved into our apartment it was just pure luck that we stumbled into it. Best of luck for your cute family!
