Silver Lining: While we're on the topic of things I want most

While we're on the topic of things I want most

I want it all.

I want to be a stay at home mom for the rest of my life. I want to teach fifth graders for the rest of my life. I want a houseful of little boys. I want all sweet little girls.

I want money. I don't want too much of it.

I want my home to be decorated, bright, and homey. I want my home to be minimalistic, neutral, and chic.

And while I'm at it - I want to move to Europe for six months. I want to sit on a patio in Italy or England and sip sweet drinks and write for hours. I want to go home after six months by way of New Zealand to visit my grandparents.

I want to stay here and never move away. To be near the mountains. To be among the people I love, helping them and laughing with them and loving them.

I want to write. Really write, where I write for hours about the things that matter most. I want to write my true life story. I want to write a made-up novel. I want to write a poem. I want to write for thousands of people to read across the world. I want to write things that only I'll ever read.

I want to live in a bustling, exciting city with no lawn at all. I want to live in a quiet, rural house with a wraparound porch and acres of lawn.

For now, I'll take this:

  4. I love this post. I have the same conversations in my head all the time. Everyone has such capability and potential, and its hard to find what to develop and what to strive for to make you the happiest. I love following your blog, found it months ago through Elisabeth :)

  6. Nice daydream. Stick with the children you can do that! By the way, the typewriter's paper is in upside down and was printed on a laser printer.

  8. That first pic is my fave. It's been on my pinterest board forever. That little girl is just GORGEOUS.
Anyway, I totally feel the same as you. I want enough money to have a nice home and travel, I want babies (later on down the road) and I want to stay home not work. Sigh....someday.

  9. If you ever find yourself with too much money I will take some off your hands! You're still young, so I think you can probably do a lot of those things :)

  10. It's like you took the words right out of my thoughts. I found your blog through Bella. I'm kind of new to this whole blogging "for real" so I'm not sure how to follow your blog? I can't find the followers section. Sorry I'm a little clueless. haha. I love your blog. Glad I found it.
