Silver Lining: Baby Claire

Baby Claire

The first few days with a newborn are pretty indescribable. At first things were absolute blur for me since I had some epidural complications and was more sick than I've ever been. It made me totally useless and hardly able to even hold my baby - but more on that later. Now we're home, and I'm feeling better, and starting to figure out life with a new baby.

Exhaustion blurs everything, but what I know for sure is that we can't stop staring at our gorgeous girl. We kiss her chubby cheeks and her tiny ski jump nose, and we photograph every single face she makes. We stroke her soft hair and grab her tiny fingers. She needs me constantly, and while I've never felt so exhausted, I've also never felt so loved. She depends on me, and the way she snuggles up and calms down when I hold her is like nothing else. It is so worth the constant feedings and the poopy diapers and the midnight hallway-pacing.

We're in love.

  1. I can not get over how beautiful she is! I hope that things are getting better with all of your complications! That does not sound fun! I remember I had a rash for about a month after I had Holland (we think from the epidural) and that was awful! So I can't even imagine being so sick! I am so so happy for you though! Your sweet girl is just absolutely precious!

  5. Congrats brooke! I am so excited for you! I am the same way with pictures. Seriously have like 700 pictures. Every face and sleeping cuddle HAS to be documented ;) hahah enjoy it. Btw take some time and find a jacuzzi to just sit in. it is amazing how much better I felt after that 10 minutes in the jacuzzi. Good luck with your sweet baby girl!
